Abstract
This film is about 23 year old Travis Younger stuck in a hard place between meeting the deadline for his job and the death of his grandmother. His relationship with his family is tested when he is forced to choose his work over them. It takes place in Brooklyn, 1973. Travis needs to write and report a story or else he is going to lose his job. It begins when Mr. Willie, his neighbor, gives him a tv and helps him move it in his apartment. This script is also inspired by Weeksville. It was one of the "two largest independent free black communities in the United States". It was founded in 1838 by James Weeks, forty four stevedore, who purchased two lots from July Henry C Thomspon eleven years after slavery ended. Bed-Stay, Eastern Parkway, and Crown Heights is now what Weeksville was.
