Blocks in the Blockchain

Abstract

At its core, Blockchain is a disruptive innovative technology that has a range of applications that could fundamentally change major societal and business institutions. With Bitcoin as its foundation, blockchain serves as the latest medium to facilitate the function of money in the digital age. This paper gives a general overview of money, its history, and its next iteration in cryptocurrency. The research acts as a foundation for my thesis art project, Project Fountain. The overall goal of the project is to analyze the fundamental issues of widespread adoption and usage of cryptocurrency: user experience (UX), and open-source payment infrastructure.
