    Abstract
Growing up, I did not see a lot of diversity and representation within the media— especially in entertainment. For example, out of the 350 Oscars that have been awarded, only 19 of those awarded are AfricanAmerican. I wanted to create my own platform to showcase black art. The title of my project is called "Stories of My Mind: A Tribute To Black Women." I will be performing original music as well as featuring several other black artists throughout this event. I hope to inspire women of color everywhere to take up space, make their marks where they can, and if their hasn't been a platform provided for you to show your art— create your own! This grant will be used to support me financially; helping to cover the cost of the expenses listed below. This grant will help me immensely because it has been really hard to make money to fund my art being that we are in the middle of pandemic.
