This project is nature photography on painted canvases. The colors painted onto the photographs are random and each branch or stone or trunk is a different color and is not based off of the natural color of the nature for one set, the second set has a set rule of using 6 colors and filling empty spaces with fake branch like systems. The reason this is a still life is because I set up branches, rocks, and other objects found in nature in a way that is organized for a photograph. The photographs are painted with acrylic paints, and speaks to artificiality and climate related issues as some of the photographs also have litter in them as well as are pieces that are changed by a human and are unnatural. The relationship between nature and humans is complex as well as the interactions between the two requires thought. "Still Life?" is a series of ten partially painted photographs on canvas.
