The U.S Media Coverage of the 1937 Haitian Massacre analyzes the history of Dominican Republic Pre-colonialism and during colonialism in an attempt to understand the deep roots connection of black consciousness in the island. The relations between the Dominican Republic and the United States are also mentioned in an attempt to understand the reasons for both the Trujillo and Roosevelt administration through primary sources from the U.S. Newspapers who reported the events of the 1937 Haitian massacre. There are synthesized secondary sources examined that analyze the 1937 Haitian massacre and the coverage of the events by the US media diving briefly into the political, social relations and history of the island.
