dc.description.abstract | Throughout time, independent musicians have worked hard to get their place in the music industry. New technologies, methods of streaming, and media have been established to help artists get noticed, access to new music more easily, and resources to help independent artists succeed. With this, methods of marketing when releasing any music have become important for an independent artist to utilize in order to get attention. Some artists depend on their labels, managers, or themselves to accomplish effective marketing for their art. In today’s age, social media is the fastest way to access artists' art all around the world in an instant. As an emerging independent artist, this paper will help give a deeper understanding of the independent artist, the music industry, entertainment marketing, and alternative types of media. | |
