This senior project is a formulation of the adaptation of a female-centered Caribbean folklore with longevity that predates to centuries ago. It was adapted to a screenplay for the film entitled, The Origins of La Diablesse that included comedic elements that are in line with the Carribean storytelling tradition, along with immersive, metatheatrical, satirical, and melodramatic aspects. This production was primarily composed of the character embodiment supported by sociological studies of matrilineal figures in a West Indian family for this femme fatale's journey and transition. Seven driven students from different ethnic backgrounds formed a close knit coterie with the gift of boundless creative experimentation and a unified artistic vision for its making.Collections
