Targeted interventions, or Tier II interventions, are implemented within a comprehensive three-tiered system of support (Response to Intervention Model) consisting of Tier I interventions (for all students), Tier II interventions (for students exhibiting mild behavioral difficulties), and Tier III interventions (for students requiring individualized support). Check-in-check-out (CICO) is a targeted group. Tier II intervention designed to reduce frequency of disruptive/problem behavior and increase prosocial behaviors, mainly in the school setting. The current study evaluated effects of a school's implementation of CICO with five kindergarten level students in reducing their problem behaviors.Description
