dc.description.abstract | My work involves futuristic figures who are powerful, and exploring through the unknown. I present the viewer this play between power and the unknown by playing with light and dark; light is ability, life, and power, and darkness is the opposing force. I avoid direct references for my light sources to rely on my imagination to illuminate the image. My work is translated through printmaking. I operate in multiple mediums within printmaking to explore multiple ways of creating an image. Each medium has unique characteristics that set it apart from one another, which retranslates my imagery. Each print becomes a different vein of the same universe, much like Intaglio, Lithography, Screenprint, and Woodcut are different veins of printmaking. | |
