This paper seeks to investigate the sociological effects of fandom in adolescence, spanning three different generations of the Star Wars film franchise. First the Original Trilogy Fans (1977-1996), Prequel Era fans (1999-2014), and Disney Era fans (2015-present). Intergenerational bullying and gatekeeping within the fandom is explored, as well as its effects on the following generation of fans and how toxic methodology has evolved through the age of the internet.Accessibility Statement
