This senior project in Theatre & Performance involved performing the role of Pastor in an environmental theatrical production of "The Christians" by Lucas Hnath, with the aim of examining and understanding the importance of the audience's presence in modern theatre. The work was supported by research into critical and theoretical works exploring the relationship between spectator and performer, as well as analyzing three twenty-first century plays: "The Christians," "Everybody," and "By Heart." This project culminates in a comprehensive understanding of how and why each text experiments with how the audience is being used.Accessibility Statement
