Drill music is a sub-genre of Hip-Hop which has became a huge influence on today's youth, but some might say in different ways. For some, it was a way to express themselves and help advance their way out of poverty and hardship, while law enforcement might look at it as a violence promotor. This paper explores both perspectives, but ultimately allows readers to understand where this style of music came from, and why marginalized communities are often targeted as a result.
