dc.description.abstract | Going into this project I read a number of works that I felt leaned into the concepts of life history, family and health all while still keeping the importance of grief work as an undertone of this project. In this project I use, The Cancer Journals by Audre Lorde, A Daughters Afterward by Barbra Kirshenblatt-Gimblett, Grief and a Headhunters Rage by Renato Rosaldo, and Passed On: African American Mourning Stories by Karla FC Holloway. There is so much meat in each of these writings, using them like sonnets helps move the reader through the work. I wrote this work in reflection to these pieces. | |
