A jukebox musical based on Kendrick Lamar's Pulitzer Prize-winning album, DAMN. The story follows Damian, a 23-year old aspiring artist, is living with his mom in Compton when he comes across an unreleased album from his long lost father, famous rapper and poet, Kenny Duckworth. He listens to the project, song by song, on his record player, as a story of self-hatred, guilt, and disability unravels and reveals itself to him, a story that he and those he love are also a part of, all orated by a mysterious and enigmatic specter known as Habit. As he learns more of his family story and has their secrets shown to him, he must decide whether or not he will follow his dreams, potentially making the same mistakes as his father.
