Banning and Bowdlerizing Huckleberry Finn in United States Public Schools is a senior project that examines the history and modern banning and bowdlerization of the book in public schools. This project explores the "why" aspect of the controversy this novel has faced. Through using the book itself as well as scholarly articles and actual districts that have faced its fair controversy on how and why this book was banned/censored, readers will learn in-depth moments where this book has faced its criticism. This project also touches on my personal core values as a future educator as well as how I would personally use this book with such controversial language in my classroom.Collections
