In my thesis, I explore painting as a technology that can travel through time and itself exist in and out of time. Writings on spirituality and on art guide me through concepts relating to the history of painting, time, souls, death, symbolism, and living without knowing. Detailed visual descriptions of paintings show how I use the mechanisms of painting: symbolism, color, light, and perspective. Describing my process through examples, I show how my paintings comport with ideas of impermanence and exploring what we can’t know.Accessibility Statement
