My artwork stems from a deep interest in nature, specifically water. As someone who grew up living near the ocean, I have always been interested in studying water and what it might contain at its depths. My paintings are an exploration of abstraction created by using a combination of thick gestural brushstrokes along with thin line work. My work is heavily process-based, with an emphasis on experimental mark-making and exploration of various painting tools. I am also passionate about color, using high saturation and vibrancy to express my themes. Through these processes, I strive to express oceanic themes as they relate to my life in a nostalgic and dreamlike sense.
