    Abstract
The evolution of modern technology has enabled us to capture and represent the world around us in increasingly realistic ways. This evolution has been especially evident in the fields of 360 photography, 360 videography, and lidar technologies. Together, these cutting-edge tools have the potential to create highly detailed immersive experiences that allow viewers to build and explore a virtual or augmented reality world in ways previously unimaginable. In this thesis I will explore the histories and intersection of 360 photography, 360 videography, and lidar technologies and discuss how they have been used to create iconic visual representations of a landscape or environment.
