Over the course of thousands of years, tattooing has been a part of human culture. Tattooing has been used for many different purposes and expressions within multiple cultures. Tattoo culture ebbed and flowed over the centuries, it has been a part of culture although it has also been ostracized from cultures. Tattooing has been on the fringes of society but it has also been a practice that has been an integral part of society. Tattooing should remain a strong force for expression for humans because it is so mainstream in the present day. Tho the practice can always become taboo again. The tattoo renaissance opened up a whole new world of tattooing with new techniques, styles, machinery, sanitational laws, and a different outlook on the culture. Human identity and tattooing go hand and hand and will most likely remain part of human expression for years to come.Accessibility Statement
