In this paper, I will explore how bipolar disorder affects basic aspects of someone's life, both the ones who are diagnosed and the individuals who they surround. The findings of the research suggest that there is a need for more comprehensive and accessible mental health services for individuals with bipolar disorder (BD), as well as increased education and awareness to reduce stigma and improve understanding of the condition. Additionally, the study highlights the importance of incorporating various perspectives in the development and implementation of mental health policies and programs. The peer-reviewed literature provides a reliable source of information for researchers and practitioners in various fields to obtain a comprehensive understanding of this particular topic or issue. This study’s significance lies in the possibility of filling in the gap of illness for certain individuals that exists that prohibits a full understanding of serious mental health issues (SMI) as a part of oneself while realizing that one's SMI can be improved with access to resources and treatments. This approach can also provide individuals with the tools and skills necessary to manage their symptoms and improve their overall quality of life. Additionally, SMI patients may benefit from a multidisciplinary treatment approach that includes medication management, therapy, support from family and community resources. The research can provide insights into the underlying mechanisms of this disorder and help identify personalized treatment options for patients. Lastly, it may also aid in predicting treatment response and disease progression. The research was led through these research questions: What barriers still exist that prohibit solutions from being effective in the lives of individuals who deal with bipolar disorder? What are the effects of bipolar disorder in everyday life?Accessibility Statement
