dc.description.abstract | This is my abstract about my senior project, Catch Me If You Can: An Examination of Art Restitution Cases from the Mediterranean to West Africa. It explores the histories of two artifacts from the Mediterranean and two objects from West Africa. Through research and analysis, I discuss how they ended up outside their countries of origin and what policies and roadblocks stop these items from returning home. Through this project, I hope to bring awareness to the debate surrounding restitution and how changing times and modern technology have aided those calling for justice for other artworks and those discussed in the paper. | |
