This thesis will examine many of Shakespeare's works through the angsty teen perspective theory. This theory is analyzed and discussed in relation to the senior project Rough with Love, an original jukebox musical adapted from Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. The story is told through dialogue and covers of famous pop-rock alternative songs from the early 2000s, as well as being set in the grunge era of this time.
