Pyg is a four-minute stop-motion animated short film. The film follows a reinterpretation of the Greek myth of Pygmalion. The myth follows the titular sculptor and king who turns himself away from real women. After some time he sculpts a statue of his image of an ideal woman and falls in love with it. Pygmalion then prays to the Goddess Aphrodite, in the hope that she will bring the statue to life. She does, and the sculptor finds happiness with his ideal companion. In Pyg, the myth is re-interpreted with the themes of image and self-image. Pyg is a sculptor who finds beauty in everything but himself. Completely enamored by Gala, his sculpture, he is surprised when she comes to life. Circumstances would follow to where Pyg would need to face and overcome his issues of self-image through acceptance and empathyCollections
