Behind Us Is Noise is an original, devised theatre piece seeking to illuminate and draw attention to the myriad issues in the beauty industry faced by women and BIPOC. The playwright, Anna Fofana, drew upon her own experiences, as well as those of myself and our third collaborator Reina LeBron. The final product is a moving piece of theatre that highlights the struggles and obstacles faced by BIPOC and women at every turn in society. The so-called “safe spaces” of the beauty industry are, in fact, not representative of and seek to silence the impact of women and BIPOC throughout the country.Accessibility Statement
