This senior project records my work as a stage manager on Rough with Love, a modern take on the famous play by William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet, incorporating early 2000's music and modern language in the hope to aid in the understanding of Shakespeare's works. The project describes the behind-the-scenes of taking a show from paper to stage and answers the question: a stage manager, who are they, and what makes them important? The research portion also describes how, with no prior education in stage management, Pat Adams walked into a theatre, and after years of dedication, became the 2020 recipient of the Del Hughes Award for Stage Management.
