Through a combination of sculpture and painting and a focus on the figure, the work exhibited in my show entitled "Sweeter Still.." describes my interest in the relationship between belief and reality. Reflecting on my Jewish upbringing my work interrogates this idea of faith- the way magic, or compulsion guides us to do wonderful or terrible things. I explore the spirit of materials and the human figure and the way these things connect through mythology and storytelling. "Sweeter Still.." uses silliness to relish in the fluidity of paradox.
