dc.description.abstract | This project is about the journey of life, growing up and the "magic and loss" experienced on this journey. This body of work depicts themes of early childhood, femininity, comfort, anxiety and how one grapples with mortality and ephemerality. I chose materials that are significant to both my childhood and adult experiences, such as model magic clay, beads, stickers, and an empty wine bag. I also used characters from my childhood such as Hello Kitty and Lisa Frank animals to help tell these stories and convey deeper feelings. In my paper, I communicate each piece through stories and personal experiences. | |
