This paper is meant to examine gender and the effect it has on addictive behavior from a psychological and philosophical viewpoint. An in-depth analysis following the different forms of addiction allows for a deeper evaluation of why gender plays a role and which gender becomes more addicted following a specific substance or behavior. The research showed that there is no direct gender that's affected by addiction or causes addiction. Both genders reacted differently depending on the substance due to societal and biological factors which were proven throughout the research. The studies and excerpts reviewed for this piece showed there was a correlation between gender and addiction when looking at the concept from every aspect.Collections
