Cannibalism has been exaggerated by Western civilization as a form of racial stereotyping, that has resulted in harmful demoralization of BIPOC. Throughout history the trope of cannibalism consumed the literary imagination especially in maritime and colonial literature, and acted as a lens to analyze cultural divisiveness. This project attempts to grasp the perspective of both colonized and metropole, as it navigates this dark history and expresses the need for change.
