dc.description.abstract | This study examines Gen Z's relationship with YouTube and what they think of it as a viable career choice. I examined the close and complicated relationship Gen Z has with technology and social media. I also explored how Gen Z is very different from it's predecessors. The research included an anonymous survey in which I asked 30 members of Gen Z from a public 4-year liberal arts college in New York about their thoughts on YouTube as a career, social media, and their overall relationship with technology. The study found that many of the participants are exploring careers in the entertainment field but don't think YouTube would be a good fit for them due to it's inconsistent income and low rate of success. | |
