Social media apps are breeding a new defintion of the term celebrity. Through the analysis of Tik Tok biggest stars Charli and Dixie D'Amelio is becomes evident how micro-celebrities like them ahdere a performance identity to build a following on different social channels. The complexity of understanding each apps algorithm and trends results in the diferentiation between a traditonal celebrity and one whos fame results from media. The D'Amelio's use their understanding to formualte an identity that they can then market of off while converting to entertainment mediums apart from Tik Tok. Through the study of the social apps and how infulencers build their following we derive an analysis that sets them apart the from the initial perspective of lesiure that the apps are intended for.
