dc.description.abstractThe dissection of sampling and its effects on current pop culture through the lens of copyright. We will follow the history of sampling, copyright basics, and sampling examples. We will also critique sampling through case laws and use current notable examples. Finally, will examine options for reform on how to improve copyright laws to create a better landscape for artists to sample.
