An emphasis on art related careers in societies isn't often discussed. Purchase College has a whole community of artists that one day hope to achieve their dreams. However, the ways in which the artists are successful in life differ depending on the field and level they are in. The three main components of success are financial success or stability, reputation, and personal achievement. It is important and beneficial in society and in the art community at Purchase College and otherwise to recognise these different measures of success. The separate measures also indicate the type of mind-set a person may have in regards to their craft. Images of success span across a lengthy spectrum that recognises the ability to be successful on one's own terms.
