dc.description.abstract | This artistic analysis explores six Broadway pieces - A Chorus Line, Spring Awakening, Avenue Q, If/Then, Flower Drum Song, and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - through the lens of Buddhism and its core themes. A background on both topics of musical theatre and Buddhism are provided prior to the analyses of each production. Finally, a contextualization of each piece's authenticity and significance is outlined, followed by a heart-warming conclusion shedding light on the future of Broadway and entertainment. | |
