This paper discusses the recent phenomenon of "selfie museums", also known as Instagram museums, pop-up museums, interactive art experiences, and other names. The recent appearance of these spaces is traced back to comparable art historical examples that may have influenced them; the basic technical principles of an interactive experience is detailed; excerpts of interviews with two staff members at spaces that could be considered "selfie museums".Collections
