dc.description.abstract | This excerpt of a fictional novel begins the journey of seventeen-year-old Peter Saint, a boy who has encountered monsters in his hometown since he was a child. He has kept it all secret, struggling to piece together the rules of a world of magic which he knows he has only glimpsed in passing. Then, one Halloween night, his life is thrown into chaos by the arrival of three monstrous strangers -- strangers who, whether friend or foe, inadvertently set Peter on a path to finally learn the answers he never thought he would get. | |
