dc.description.abstract | This project aims to support educators, school counselors, school psychologists, and school administrators working with English Language Learners (ELLs) and how to support their mental health. Bilingual students in the United States often facing barriers related to mental health. These barriers they face including language difficulties, economic hardship, family stresses, and immigration procedures can significantly impact their mental well-being. These students carry unique obligations related to finances, culture, and emotion, and the literature shows the considerable impatiently health has on bilingual students. To increase the mental health of bilingual students amongst multiple school districts, multiple aspects have been considered to benefit the mental health of bilingual students within the school district. Solutions to the problem within the districts include an educators culturally responsive journal, cultural and home language surveys, calming corners, implementation of a safe learning environment, monthly newsletters, and a student mental health survey. | en_US |
