We retrospectively reviewed all infant Chlamydia trachomatis eye cultures submitted to the Chlamydia Research Laboratory from 1986 to 2002. The positivity rate was 15.6% during the period before the implementation of universal prenatal screening (1986-1993) compared with 1.8% during the screening period (1994-2002).Citation
