Abstract

Assessing natural reproduction of fish is important for fisheries management. Because of the visual similarity of eggs we are developing a genetic test to differentiate between Lake Trout and other Lake Ontario species. We are exploring methods and possibly have found a mutant Lake Trout strain that has complicated differentiation.
