Abstract
The literature review for past research conducted on the relationship between mindfulness and construal level theory on the regulations of impulses is very limited. Past literature on construal level has focus on how high-level construal, as opposed to low-level construal promotes self-control (Fujita, Trope, Liberman, and Levin-sagi, 2006). However, There does not appear to be many studies conducted on the relationship between mindfulness and construal level and how that relationship plays a part on how we regulate self- control. The current theoretical examination proposal will focus on how mindfulness induces high level construal (Chan & Wang, 2019) and that high-level construal in turn induces successful self-control (Fujita, Trope, Liberman, & Levin-sagi, 2006). The methods will explore how we can induce mindfulness, and measure construal level theory and self-control in order to measure the effects that each concept has on the other.
