Abstract
The piece that I call “Keaton’s Feast” is a dinner setup made up of items that can’t be used to have dinner with, served on a table that is nearly impossible to eat dinner on. It is a comedic display, meant to parody the traditional dinner setup, with the pieces sabotaged in a subtle way so that one wouldn’t know that they were unusable until they tried to use it. The dinnerware is all made from unglazed ceramic, and the table and chairs are repurposed from a wooden dining room set. The façade of usability is meant to give the viewer the impression that they are in a slapstick skit, in the style of Buster Keaton, Three Stooges, or Marx Brothers films.
