Abstract
Within this paper I will be investigating the relationship between new religious movements, cults, and violence. I will be delving into the exogenous and endogenous variables that when mixed together can create a storm that starts acts of violence within the community as well as out. The cults i will be focusing on are heavens gate, the peoples temple, and the branch davidians.
