Abstract
For my senior project I have made an animated video that visually represents how I feel while experiencing a panic attack. The story is about a young man who while going to therapy, finds himself lost in a strange and surreal place. He is forced to go through this place in hopes of finding an escape, all while finding himself faced with strange beings and scenarios. The purpose of my project is to act as an outlet for me to confront my fears stemming from my anxiety and panic disorder, if by chance any viewers relate or feel a connection to it, that would just be an added bonus. Due to my panic disorder I have become increasingly close to the concept of therapy and being open about my struggles. Being in the creative position I am, I have often been told to use my skills to confront my issues and explore the possibilities. That is precisely what I have done with my senior project. I wanted to challenge myself and see just how far inward I could look to hopefully overcome my fear of my disorder. This was something that I had wanted to do for quite a long time, but always found myself reluctant to revisit the trauma that started it all. Everything in my animation is derived from actual events that were either causes, or effects of my anxiety and panic disorder.
