Abstract
This Senior Project Essay in Theatre & Performance explores the role of the audiences in theatre and how they can be used to encourage community building through the critical analysis of the play "Every Brilliant Thing" by Duncan Macmillan and Jonny Donahoe, along with other academic sources. It also includes my process as producer, actor, deviser, and sound and projection designer in the original devised piece Homesick, which was put up in the Fall of 2024 at Purchase College.
