Abstract
Black and Blue is a photographic document of my healing process after sexual assault, and the never-ending emotions that I, as a survivor, live with daily. Writing about and photographing my difficult process to recovery has become a therapeutic tonic that has allowed me to feel more restored and healthy than I have in many years. My hope for creating this project is that other survivors of assault will relate to these photographs, and realize that they are not alone on their journey of healing. This photographic project aims to show my struggle in the hopes that other survivors may see themselves in my work.
