Abstract
A journalistic piece on up-and-coming Latina designers from New York City. Despite an ongoing pandemic, economic downturn, and racial uproar, Latinx women have increasingly been making their way in the apparel business. The four up-and-coming designers featured in this story have used the turmoil of the last few years to fuel their ascent in an industry that traditionally marginalized and discounted people of color. They channel creativity from their island roots to break racial and gender barriers in fashion. And they do it with their Neoyorquina attitude.
