Abstract
In the future, I hope to create a supernatural story world that people can enjoy. This caused me to research entertainment media so I can gain a structure to replicate in my world. As a person who experiences nihilism and derealization, I gained the urge to find what features related to these concepts are implemented in a supernatural story world. I termed these features as the abstraction since the concepts of nihilism and derealization together are something that one cannot physically grasp but mentally understand. I then illustrated different elements of genres and other tools that I want to add to my supernatural story world. Adding on I went back to my idea of the abstraction and how the tools I conveyed related to the abstraction. From this research, I have learned that a lot of genres and other tools need to make their audience feel connected to a world that is unknown to them. The audience must be immersed to have a better understanding of the story world. With the abstraction, those who experience nihilism and derealization take what they reject and tune out of their life, and turn it into a story that creates their hopes and dreams.
