Abstract
This study examined the effects of anticipation and age on stress behavior before and after mealtime in stabled horses. Behavioral observations showed that looking to the door, pinned ears, and head tossing occurred significantly more before feeding and in younger horses. These findings highlight age-related differences in food anticipatory stress.
