Abstract
Vogesella indigofera is a bacterium that produces the blue pigment indigoidine. We investigated whether the tciK gene is required for pigment production using targeted gene deletion and complementation. We also examined how the two-component system composed of sensor kinase TciK and regulator TciR might function together to regulate indigoidine.
