Abstract
An analysis of three labor documentaries, Harlan County, USA (dir. Barbara Kopple, 1973), American Dream (dir. Barbara Kopple, 1990), and American Factory (dir. Julia Reichert and Steven Bognar, 2019), their observational and participatory modes of documentary, and how these films help the labor movement in American labor cinema.
